Albania Archeological Tour is a a trip for Archeology passionates. Without a doubt, Albania is very rich in archeological sites. Moreover there is an archeological site every 1.5 km in this country. The most impressive ones are in the south of the country. In this trip we are able to visit all of them.

In the sites, according to the complexity of it, we will be assited by specialists. During the whole trip, your guide is going to provide informations on historical facts regarding the program. Beside the visits, during the trip we will structure two lectures with Proffessional Archeologists. The aim is to enrich the experience with a better knowledge as well.

Absolutely Albania Archeological Tour includes all the best archeological sites. Also we follow a culinary route as well. Obviously i am happy to suggest the best places and dishes according to the personal taste of each traveler. As a rule i don’t book for meals and accomodation. On the other hand, with a request, i can arrange meals and accomodation.
Day 1: Tirane
Meet with the guide at the airport. Following transfer to the hotel and some time for refreshment. Evening visit of the capital. It includes the Pyramid of Tirana, the central square and its mos representative buildings and entrance in the History Museum. Late evening in the lively area of Blloku.
Day 2: Apollonia and Berat (UNESCO)
Transfer to Apollonia. In the site a specialist archeologist will assist us. Without doubts his assistance will enrich the experience as the site is quite complex. Following the visit in the monumental part we will continue with a relaxed walk in the site. Moreover, here we will visit one a museum that keeps inside some masterpieces found in the site. Following our program, transfer to Berat (UNESCO). Free time in the lower part of the city to enjoy on our own.
Day 3: Berat (UNESCO)
Visit of Berat. Additionally the visit to the city includes the Lower and the Upper Neighborhoods. Furthermore the lower part is a UNESCO historical site due to its remarkable architecture. Besides, in the upper part, we will find a great collection of Byzantine Art. Undoubly the views from the towers of the Berat are amazing. Particularly today we have the possibility to enjoy some delicious traditional dishes. As well we visit a local winery. In conclusion evening free to enjoy on ourselves.
Day 4: Antigonea and Gjirokaster (UNESCO)
Today we visit Antogonea, the city that King Pirro of Epirus built to honour his wife Antigona. The city had a short life as the Romans destroyed it. Moreover the King lost all his army fighting the Romans in Naples therefore we use the expression “Pyrrhic victory”. The evening follows with the visit of Gjirokaster. Here we find remains of the foundation of the city and as well some remarkable architecture. Furthermore we will have a visit in a local house for a trditional coffee ceremony. Evening free for leisure.
Day 5: Butrinti (UNESCO)
Albania abounds on natural and historical sites. Moreover we visit a natural wonder localy such as the Blue Eye. It is about a natural park and its many springs. The most beatiful one is surrounded by mistery and legends on its powers and cristalline waters. Besides, the second part of the day will be in the lost city of Butros aka Butrinti. Definitely the most important UNESCO site in Albania. Above all, its location inside a forest and in between a lake, a river and the Ionian sea offers astonishing views. Moreover Hellenistic, Roman and Venetian remains decorate the whole park. Absolutely an amazing site to explore. In conclusion free evening in the coastal town of Sarande.
Day 6: Phoenice and Vlora
The morning starts with the visit of Phoenice, the center of ancient Epirus. We will see the remains of the walls and the Roman villas. Following a super scenic drive through mountains, hills filled with secular olive trees and spectacular views of the Ionian Sea. We will make many stops on the way. Hence going up to 1200 m above the sea level. Also we visit Oricum, an important Roman port in the Illyrian – Roman and Roman – Macedonian wars. Evening free in Vlora.
Day 7: Byllis and Durres
Visit in the Monastery of Zvernec. Later we will head to Byllis. The location of the site is quite hard to reach but definitely worth it. Furthermore the city founded in the 4th Century BC played and important role in the Illyrian – Roman wars. Evening transfer to Durres. Without any doubts, the ancient Epidamnos is an open air museum. Moreover, we ahve the possibility to explore the rests of the biggest Amphitheater of the Balkans of the 2nd Century. Evening is free.
Day 8: Durres and Kruja

Furthermore, this trip is suitable for children, adults and disabled people. As a rule sport outfit and good walking shoes. As a rule, in summer we recommend to wear a hat and sun cream because of the heat.
